I have experience providing therapy from a compassionate and open-minded perspective to individuals, couples and groups from a variety of backgrounds. My job is to help you find your truth and build a better life for yourself, not to tell you what to do. I strive to make every client feel safe and accepted as they are.
I have worked with diverse adults from women and families fleeing domestic abuse to active duty members and veterans.
Some issues I have worked with in the past include trauma, anxiety, combat/ post-traumatic stress disorder, grief and loss, life transitions, substance abuse, relationship challenges, and more.
I’m trilingual, fluent in Arabic, French, and English. Having been raised abroad, I am very interested in cross-cultural challenges.
I am also interested in working with people who are exploring non-traditional relationships, navigating sexual orientation and gender issues (LGBTQ+). Together, you and I will explore your concerns at your pace and try to get more clarity.
I work with individuals and how they view themselves, others, and their world. I believe that we all strive to be more authentic in our lives but sometimes get lost along the way. I am committed to working with you to foster greater insight and improve your agency in your life. I also collaborate with people in relationships to help them reconnect and communicate better.
Through our therapeutic alliance, we will create fertile grounds for growth and self-awareness. I am not afraid to ask for your feedback as we are on this journey together. I want you to feel seen, heard, and not alone. I also believe that I have as much to learn from you as you have from me.
I have a Masters in Clinical Social Work from George Mason University, and a Masters in International Affairs. I have worked in a domestic violence shelter, as well as in a military co-occurring partial hospitalization clinic treating dual diagnosis; substance abuse, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, relationship difficulties, among other issues. I am regularly engaged in trainings, supervision, and continued education.
I have joined Tamara Pincus and Associates recently and if I have learned anything from working with her thus far, is that the first step and only step that counts is to just show up as you are.
I look forward to working with you.
