As a licensed professional counselor, I am dedicated to helping marginalized and traumatized people receive the compassionate, informed care they need to navigate their unique journeys toward sexual and mental wellness. I believe that people who are LGBTQIA+, exploring their gender, and/or who have survived sexual trauma and assault need a safe space with a trusted professional who has experience with the struggles they face in our world.
I have been in private practice since 2016, working with individuals and couples. I work from an existential lens and use a collaborative approach with my clients, which means that I’m focused on your free will and on your ability to take an empowered role in your therapeutic process. I am also trained in EMDR, cognitive processing therapy, Gottman Method couples counseling, and I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and Transgender Care provider.
My work takes me beyond the therapy office into the community, where I contribute to discussions around trauma, anxiety and stress management, military-related stress, gender and sexual identity, mindfulness, managing compassion fatigue, ethical decision making, the assessment of mental disorders, and sexual self-advocacy, communication, freedom, and pleasure for sexual assault survivors and gender minorities. I’ve previously worked in a variety of settings, including in-patient, community non-profit, and government.
I am licensed to practice in Texas, Virginia, DC, and Maryland, and I am an approved LPC clinical supervisor in the state of Virginia. I am currently under the supervision of Tamara Pincus as I complete my doctoral internship in Counselor Education and Supervision.
